10 years of RAINing

rain banner 580x300

korean superstar and world star RAIN ( jeong Ji Hoon) celebrating his 10 years of being a singer, dancer, actor, ambassador, endorser, role model and total entertainer..

RAIN – singer , actor, model, endorser, ambassador of good will, KOREAN SUPER STAR, Hollywood star, world star. Friend, but who is RAIN? After 10 YEARS of stardom. When and how and who the real RAIN is?

Jung Ji-Hoon (born June 25, 1982), better known by his stage name Rain, is a South Korean recording artist, dancer, actor and designer. Rain’s musical career includes seven albums (six Korean, one Japanese), 19 singles and numerous concert tours around the world. His acting career began in 2003, when he won the KBS Best New Actor award for his role in the drama Sang Doo! Let’s Go To School. In 2004, Rain won the KBS Excellence in Acting award for his role in the drama Full House. After starring in A Love To Kill, he acted in his first Korean film, I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK (2006), which won the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. Rain has acted in the American films Speed Racer (2008) and Ninja Assassin (2009), the latter of which made him the first Korean to win an MTV award In 2007, Rain left the management of JYP Entertainment and started his own company, J. Tune Entertainment.

How he started

Rain spent most of his childhood living with his parents and younger sister, Jeong Hanna, nearYonseiUniversity. Despite being an introverted and shy child, he discovered he had a passion for dance when he performed in a talent show for High School. Rain initially had a difficult time balancing dance and academics and received low grades during the beginning of junior high because of his frequent dance practices. He decided to follow his passion and attendedHigh SchoolofArtsin where he received his first formal instruction in acting and was able to continue dancing as well. Rain again found he could not focus on both dance and his studies in acting; he was truant on several occasions.

Rain lost his mother as she struggled with diabetes and died in 2000. Within that same year, Rain was recruited as a trainee for JYP Entertainment, led by recording artist and producer Park Jin-Young. In a CNN interview and also in a Discovery Channel documentary called Discovering Hip Korea, however, he recalled being repeatedly rejected because of his looks: “In fact, I was told after one audition that my singing and dancing was great but I did not make it because I did not have double eyelids.” However, he finally got in as producer Park Jin-Young saw his drive and persistence during an audition in which Rain danced for hours non-stop, unlike the usual ten minutes for an audition. During the early years of training, Rain was a backup dancer.

SETTING KOREAN WAVE

In 2002, Jung debuted with the album Bad Guy where he was introduced to the media through his stage name, Rain. The album’s title was “Bad Guy” and was followed by “Handshake”. After his first album, in 2003, he made his television debut in the KBS drama, Sang Doo! Let’s Go To School. Following the success of his debut as a singer and actor, Rain released his second album, How to Avoid The Sun, and released the title song “Ways to Avoid the Sun.” 2004–05: Rise in popularity

In 2004, he starred in the popular drama called “Full House” with one ofKorea’s most popular actresses, Song Hye Kyo. The drama had viewer ratings of over 30% for every episode. It was broadcasted in various other countries including thePhilippines,Malaysia,Indonesia,Singapore,Vietnam,Thailand,Hong Kong,China,Japan,Morocco,Sri Lanka,Taiwan,Israel,Cambodiaand theUnited States. His performance in the drama won him the Best Actor Award at the KBS Acting Awards.

His third album, It’s Raining (2004), sold over 1 million copies in Asia.[5] According to a report by Rain’s previous agency JYP Entertainment to the Korea Culture & Content Agency, It’s Raining topped the charts in all of the following countries as of December 29, 2005: Japan (100,000 copies), China (500,000 copies), Taiwan (70,000 copies), Thailand (150,000 copies), Indonesia (50,000 copies), and South Korea (154,000 copies), for a combined total of 1,074,000 units sold

Rain then went on his Rainy Day 2005 Tour, starting inSeouland followed byTokyoandHong Kong. The tickets sold out quickly.[6] the Rainy Day global tour in 2005 sold out over 150,000 seats in 8 cities inKorea,ChinaandJapan. His first solo concert inJapan, entitled Rainy Day Japan held at the Tokyo International Forum had all the tickets sold out 30 seconds after going on sale

WORLD  STAR

Rain’s fourth album, Rain’s World, was released inKoreaon October 14, 2006.

He acted in his first film, I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK, directed by Park Chan-wook. The film won the Alfred Bauer Award at the 57th Berlin International Film Festival and was selected as the opening film for the Hong Kong International Film Festival. Also, Rain was nominated for and won Best New Actor at the 43rd Baeksang Awards Asia. Rain in Bangkok 2007 The “Rain’s Coming” tour began on December 15, 2006 at Jamsil Stadium inSeouland was scheduled to continue through 2007 to the following countries:Singapore,Malaysia,Thailand,Vietnam,China,Japan,Taiwan,Australia,United States, andCanada. His tour incorporated the talents of producers and stage designers (such as Jamie King and Roy Bennett) who have been involved with the concert tours of other artists such as U2, Michael Jackson, Ricky Martin, Madonna, Britney Spears, and The Rolling Stones. Ticket sales were expected to be over US$100 million.

Rain released his first Japanese album, Eternal Rain on September 13, 2006. His concert at the Tokyo Dome on May 25, 2007 attracted nearly 40,000 people. Rain was the first Korean artist to perform at the Tokyo Dome, the largest auditorium inJapan.

United States In April 2006, Rain was mentioned in the Time magazine website article that named the “100 Most Influential People Who Shape Our World.”  In 2007, Rain topped Time Magazine’s online user poll although he was not in the magazine’s actual list. He also made it into People’s 2007 list of the “Most Beautiful People” in the world.

His two-day concert in theUnited States, Rainy Day New York was marketed and promoted by the Asian concert production company Rainstone Live. Tickets were sold out within a matter of days and the concerts were held at Madison Square Garden Rain performed two concert dates inLas Vegas,Nevadaon December 23–24, 2006; the tickets to these concerts sold out within the first week of sales. These concerts were held at The Colosseum atCaesarsPalace.

Rain at Sepang International Circuit F1 2011 post party concert,Malaysia.

In 2007, Rain was included on People’s Most Beautiful People in its “First-Time Beauties 2007″ section. In a press release, Rain stated that he was honored to be on the list, and also noted that it will be a great boost to his efforts to raise his public awareness in theUnited States. Also in 2007, Rain topped Time’s open online poll: he defeated Stephen Colbert by 100,000 votes. Colbert jokingly retaliated by producing a parody of Rain’s music video for “Ways to Avoid the Sun” called “He’s Singin’ In Korean”. Stephen Colbert then challenged Rain to a dance-off “or a cuddle-off, or a spoon-off”. On May 5, 2008, Rain appeared in a surprise guest segment at the end of The Colbert Report, and proceeded to engage Colbert in a dance-off on a Dance Dance Revolution machine.

On October 16, 2008, Rain released his fifth Korean album, Rainism. Rain released “Love Story”, as the first single from the album, shortly followed by the single, “Rainism”. On November 24, 2008, The Commission of Youth Protection judged Rain’s album, Rainism, inappropriate for people under 19 years old because of the song “Rainism”.[20] In “Rainism”, the lyrics (translated from Korean) “Trembling inside your shaking body is my magic stick/Feeling the impassable limit of the body shake” were considered problematic due to their phallic and sexual references. Rain has re-released a “clean version” of “Rainism” shortly after, but instead of changing the original album’s contents, he has labeled a sticker that deemed “Rainism” inappropriate for those under 19 years old. In 2008, he acted in his first American film, the Wachowski Brothers-directed Speed Racer, where he played Racer Taejo Togokahn. He made his starring role debut in Ninja Assassin (2009), as the main character Raizo. Ninja Assassin was directed by James McTeigue, and produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers. The project was inspired by the ninja scenes featured from Speed Racer, in which Rain had impressed the Wachowskis with his portrayal as a fighter.[24] He won the Biggest Badass Award at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards because of his performance in Ninja Assassin.

Rain concluded The Legend of Rainism Tour at The Colosseum atCaesarsPalaceinLas Vegas,Nevadaon December 24–25, 2009. He performed most of the songs on his recent album, Rainism. The Legend of Rainism Tour had concerts inJapan,Korea,China,Taiwan,Hong Kong,IndonesiaandLas Vegas.

2010: Return toKorea

On April 6, 2010, Rain released a special mini-album titled Back to Basic including the singles “Love Song”, with the MV starring Korean actress Han Ye Seul and “Hip Song”.

From late September to early December 2010, Rain starred in TV drama The Fugitive: Plan B (Korean: 도망자). It was aired on KBS2 and costarred Lee Na-young, and the supporting cast included Lee Jung-jin, Daniel Henney, and Japanese actors Uehara Takako and Naoto Takanaka.

He is listed on TIME 100 for the second time. In October Rain representedKoreaand performed at the 7th Asia Song Festival, organised by Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange, at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.

CHALLENGES

In February 2007, Rain and his former management agency JYP Entertainment as well as a concert organizer, Wellmade STAR M Corporation, were sued over copyright infringement of the stage name “Rain,” by theU.S.recording firm Rain Corporation. The company, which works with an American band also called “Rain,” demanded that Rain drop the English name in theUnited States. In June 2007, the lawsuit ended because the Nevada District Court determined there was no evidence indicating that Rain Corporation would suffer any actual harm.

On his World 2007 tour, his scheduled concerts inShanghai,Toronto,San Francisco, andHawaiiwere canceled, followed by the last concert inLos Angeles. The last event at theStaplesCenterwas canceled only two hours prior to opening: Rain’s producer blamed the situation on financial problems of the local promoter, while the local promoter blamed Wellmade STAR M calling them too “incompetent to handle the situation.”.  On March 19, 2009, a federal jury in Honolulu found that Rain, his former management agency JYP Entertainment, and two other promotion companies were guilty of breaching a contract and defrauding Honolulu promoter Click Entertainment for $2 million (originally just over $1 million) after the Hawaii concert was canceled and the promoters were not refunded the $500,000 licensing fee. Rain and JYP were ordered to pay $2.4 million each in punitive damages, $1 million for damages related to the fraud, and $2.3 million for breach of contract. A separate lawsuit filed by promoters Wellmade STAR M was dismissed by a South Korean court on January 28, 2010. Judge Bae Kwang-Kuk ruled in favor of Rain and blamed the plaintiff for poor preparations surrounding the cancelledU.S.tour. Other activities

Six to Five HIS FASHION STYLE

Six to Five was Rain’s first clothing line, since it also was his dream to become a fashion designer. It was launched on December 23, 2008 and was followed by a “fashion show–launch party–mini-concert” to introduce “Six to Five”. Many stars came to support him, such as Lee Hyori, Kim Suna, Chae-Rim and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun. He designs and models the clothing. The label “Six To Five” is described by Rain as the idea of having an extra sense (i.e. from five senses to six). This label name also is said to represent his birth date, 6/25.

J. Tune Entertainment

In November 2007, Rain told the Korean media that he has left JYP Entertainment and started his own entertainment company, J. Tune Entertainment (formerly known as Rainy Entertainment). He was scheduled to be CEO of the company, but told the media that he still kept in touch with his mentor and long-timetrainerParkJin Young. J. Tune debuted MBLAQ, an all-boy group, in October, 2009. Rain actively participates in MBLAQ’s music, either composing, writing, producing or choreographing dance routines. In December 2010, Park Jin-Young announced that J. Tune Entertainment would be merged with JYP Entertainment. It become the largest shareholder in J. Tune Entertainment, and it is viewed as a strategic alliance between the two companies. [edit]Humanitarian work

Rain was involved with MTV EXIT, a campaign against human trafficking in Asia.He presented Traffic: An MTV EXIT Special, a documentary.which gives insight into the realities of trafficking, addresses the part everyone can play in the issue, and gives information on how people can protect themselves as well as what people can do to help end exploitation and trafficking.

MILITARY SERVICE

Rain revealed his future plans on September 27, 2010 at a press conference for The Fugitive: Plan B. He decided to hold off on his military service until the following year to study for his masters degree.

Rain filmed Red Scarf in March, 2011 and it’s scheduled for a November release. It co-stars Kim Sung-Soo, Yoo Jun-sang, Lee Jong-seok, and Lee Hana. He wrapped filming in September on film Soar Into the Sun, where he plays a talented yet troublemaking elite air force pilot who is demoted to the combat flying unit. It is directed by Kim Dong-hoon and scheduled for release in 2012.

On September 23, Rain announced that he would enlist in the military on October 11. He reported for 21 months of compulsory military service at the 306th Army draft camp in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi-do province.

RAIN  SEE YOU LATER WORDS…

To the dismay of fans everywhere, Rain officially enlisted in the Korean army on October 11th. On his way to the military training camp, he filmed a video to share a final goodbye with his fans and uploaded it through YouTube under the title, ‘Rain’s enlistment video revealed.’

The world star is seen sitting in a car, dressed casually in a hat and scarf to fit the autumn weather. Looking into the camera Rain says, “It’s an hour before my enlistment. I promise to be back soon. Over the past ten years I was able to achieve a lot of things because of your support. Thank you for all the tears and laughter throughout our time together and all the many memorable moments,” and ended his speech with a moving, “I love you.”

For his final greeting he said, “I apologize for causing such a fussy enlistment. Thank you for the ten years of love you have shown me,” and finished with a shout of allegiance.

THIS IS LONDON Bank Holiday WKD-WEEK-END

THIS IS LONDON Bank Holiday  WKD-WEEK-END  (PART ONE)

Article by Angela Caruccio (a.k.a. madaMK) (WicKeD 7 Network)

A bank holiday week end inLondonmeans you can enjoy a night, on a Thursday, without the fear of a bleary-eyed morning in the office the next day. The feelgood factor means that nightspots will be buzzing with revellers in holiday mode. The extra day off work, allows to enjoy a longer break, without using up as much of the holiday allowances. The entertainment show businesses are always booming with extraordinary attractions to provide the best customer service and to secure a healthy business growth for their industry.  In the electronic music industry, inLondon, this past bank holiday week end, there were many great events but I will only talk about those that were in my pathway. It’s a common knowledge now that my favourite event organizers, are the Lock’N’Load events http://www.locknloadevents.com/

Damian Gelle’, director of “LNL” is an inspirational business role model for me, he kindly shares with me his carrier paths and he recently said:  I did Saturday afternoon parties for 7 months, then CamdenPalace, Brixton Academy after a year and a half,  SW4 Festival 10,000 capacity, it took me 3 years.  I was lucky to move very quickly. Things are organic, they have to be created and nurtured and allowed to grow;  and there are many set backs but once you are selling out events regularly you know it is right to step it up to that next level.

As I’ve explained here, every step was measured and that’s important”.  This is a business man that is second to none and what makes him superior, in my opinion, is his natural positive attitude,  proud and confident but always with good manners and very polite.  He is always keen to collaborate and to support those that are worth his time. He is a wicked influence for my club agency kokoc and my wicked event businesses without a doubt.  Gallery Event is at Ministry of Sound every Friday and on the 27-4-2012 will be The Gallery 17th Birthday  with special guest dj Ferry Corsten  http://www.locknloadevents.com/ViewEvent.aspx?Id=133

With Lock’N’Load events, Big Djs Line ups are always garanteed. This past bank holiday week end was CARL COX at the Electric Club in Brixton; John Digweed and Above & Beyond, these were all Lock’N’Load sold out shows. “CARL COX  was absolutely brilliant” said Mark Williams. That’s what he told me when we all met in Vauxhall on the following Monday.

All together with Aaron and Ryan Elder, Mark Williams, John Duckett and  Steven Sharp from “The Sharp Boys djs” all of us,  “club industry professionals”, went for what I call a “KOK-KLUB-TOUR” around the VAUXHALL resident clubs such as:  FACTORY, AREA, EMBANKMENT BAR, FIRE, LIGHTBOX, PROTOCOL to consider these clubs as new options for exhisting events to be relocated, in the nearest future.  What a special Easter Surprise was for me to meet everybody at the right place and at the right time.

Mark Williams is the event manager of Trade.  TRADE was part of the “AS ONE” event which is the biggest gay gathering in London, a sort of cooperative of clubs events such as: TRADE, ORANGE, ONYX etc etc. that collaborate to provide the very best gay intertainment in London,  this time it was held at FIRE Club.  FIRE Club,  www.fireclub.co.uk , is the club group that reigns over the Vauxhall clubland and it takes care of that unique and demanding polysexual clientele which is very difficult to control and yet these true professionals know very well how to provide a great service , safe and sound for everybody.

I have a big respect for all these personalities above here because they really do such a great work, making it look like is so easy  to run when it actually isn’t.  I spent my entire bank holiday week end in the straight part of this club.  The straight part is also devided in two clubs : The light box and the Protocol.  On Saturday night I was invited at the Lightbox by my newest artists on board of my agency KoKoc Ltd, the HOUSE ADDICTS.

HOUSE ADDICTS

1- Who are the HOUSE ADDICTS and how long ago did you start this electronic music brand?

1-     The house addicts are Wilkie and DeLion, we started djing together 25 years ago, at the beggining of the acid house movement

4- What’s the difference between the Wilkie and the DeLion sound?

4-     DeLion background is disco and rare groove, wilkie is acid house and alternative

5-     How long have you been Radio Djs and where and when can we listen to your radio shows?

5-     DeLion had a show on Ministry Of Sound radio nearly ten years ago, I started radio presenting 3 years ago on a pirate station, vision radio, where we started doing shows together, since then we do two shows a week on www.housefreaks.co.uk  an internet station: tuesdays 8 till 12 pm and thursdays 6 till 8 pm. 10-    i think the preparty is a good idea and we give it our full support as djs and promoters !

11- How was your Easter Bank Holiday week end 2012?

11-    yeah easter was good, djed at lightbox on saturday then hit the dancefloor @ egg for promisedland !

The House Addicts djs are now part of the new “WicKeD 7 Friday” group that is currently a work-in-progress.

After “WicKeD 7 London 2012”, the very first active “WicKeD 7“ group that was structured mainly with international Junior Artists because it was a Business Start Up team only meant to materialize the brand, to get it up and running and eventually to export it to those “WKD7 members” countries of origin or areas of residences;  after starting and running two events at the Union club, this group is now on a dorment mode while a new Senior “WicKeD 7 Friday” group, is progected to take the lead.

WicKeD 7 are the windows display of my agency kokoc which is a  franchising business. this International WKD7 groups are self managed by my agency artists that need exposure and residencies,  reason why there will be many groups forming around the world all structured in the same way but displaying new talents, always bringing new flavours and stiles. WicKeD 7 brand is forming organically. It is forming and growing in respect of what Mr Damian Gelle’ said : ” things are organic, they have to be created and nurtured and allowed to grow”. He kindly shared with us his business experiences and he teaches us that’s the best way to go forward,  so we wish to follow his advice.  “WicKeD 7 Friday” will be, inLondon, the new “WicKeD 7” leading group.  The new event’s dates and location will be revealed soon.  Please check info : www.madamkey.com

THIS IS LONDON Bank Holiday WKD-WEEK-END (PART TWO)

THIS IS LONDON Bank Holiday WKD-WEEK-END  (PART TWO)

Article by Angela Caruccio (a.k.a. madaMK) (WicKeD 7 Network)

In the “Londonclub scene” Ester Bank Holiday Week End are always Truly Spectacular.  I had the pleasure to interview two artists who are my newest discoveries inLondon:  The House Addicts and Maria Angeli.  I think I am well known now as a “wicked Artist Scout”. I have quite a reputation for going out of my way, to research and discover those artists that most of the time are taken for granted and don’t get given the recognition they deserve.  These are our International electronic music industry, most precious and hidden treasures.  Methaphorically talking, I like to taste them first, than, those that are really worth my time and effort, I will invite them into my “WicKeD 7 Network” and only than I’ll finally recommend them to the International industry.  I present them into a new light that makes them shine as they well and truly deserve.

MARIA ANGELI

1-         Maria Angeli, where are you from originally?

1-         I am originally fromItaly, the beautiful city ofRome.

2-         How long have you been living inLondonand why?

2-         I’ve been living inLondonfor 19 years now. At the time I came here to find a drama school, unfortunately inItalythere wasn’t much choice, especially with regards to an english speaking drama school where I could learn and perform Shakespeare in ENGLISH.Londonwas quite hard to begin with as I was very young, none the less I immediately felt at home and settled in quite easily.

3-         How old were you when you realized you had a talent as a singer?

3-         I always had a passion for music. As a child I used to write songs and perform them at family gatherings, and at the age of 11 I started attending afternoon singing school. But the true realisation of becoming a professional singer came much later, probably after my 19th birthday when I started hitting theLondonclub scene. At the time vocal uplifting house was the main sound around, I immediately became mesmerised with the amazing singers freestyling on house beats, belting out vocals that are now a mood of the past. I decided to give it a go, I was picking up mikes wherever I could, embarrassing myself at times but I could only find out by literally throwing myself in the crowd.

4-         How long have you been singing professionally?

4-         I’ve been working as a professional singer for about 10 years.

5-         How many tracks have you released so far and which one is your favourite music label that you have been working with?

5-         I’ve released 10 EP’s and 3 albums; one titled “7 Billion” which is produced by myself and recently released; two other on which I feature; plus various compilations including “Miss Moneypenny’s” and “Made in Italy” mixed by Ricky Montanari. I’ve been releasing mainly through independent labels, I don’t really have a favourite one as my main contact is usually with the producers I work with, but I can say that the labels I’ve worked with to date have all treated me very well.

6-         How can you describe your music style ?

6-         I work with different music styles, Electro, Folk and Jazz are my main loves. The great thing about electronic music in general is that it gives me freedom to create different characters, quirky sounds and lyrics, one of my inspirations of that genre is vocalist Roisin Murphy from Moloko.

7-         Where and when was your latest singing performance?

7-         My last performance was Easter Sunday bank holiday at Pacha London, I performed my latest track produced by the amazing Neverdogs duo titled “Deep Like You” out on Digital Traffik.

8-         Who were the promoters during that night and what was their main djs line up?

8. The night was called “Pacha Privè” and it included the ” De Ja Vù” promotion in the room upstairs. There was a stomping line up; in the main room we were blessed with the sounds of Neverdogs and the legendary Riky Montanary, while upstairs in the “De Ja Vù” party we boogied to the music of Salvo Buonocore, Lorenzo Panico and Eddy Kruger, I’m sure there were other DJ’s but I can’t remember everyone who played, it was a busy night…

9-         How did you enjoy the Pacha after party at the PROTOCOL Club in Vauxhall?

9. It was a while since I went to an after party, and I really enjoyed Protocol Club in Vauxhall, what a lovely venue!

10-       What do you think about Vauxhall as a location to host a free street Festival that unites the local club comunity that, in the neighbourhood, has got:  PACHA, MINISTRY OF SOUND, PROTOCOL  as well as  all others VAUXHALL clubs?

10. I think a free street festival in Vauxhall would be the Bomb! It still remains quite an anonymous area ofLondon, not overly residential, and the club scene there, is really thriving, what you could call a real club community…. the festival sounds like a great idea!

I have known MARIA ANGELI since over 10 years now as we were part of the sameLondon’s friends group, maiby this is the reason why we have never taken each other professions  too seriously, I think. Our friendships, with my “good old time gang” split at one point as we were all following our carrears  natural paths.  With Maria Angeli, we had not seen each other anymore for quite few years but this 2012 Monday Bank Holiday Week End suddenly our paths joined again and with a real surprise never the less a great pleasure indeed. We met at the Protocol that was the choosen venue for the official “PACHA CLUB” after party.  PROTPOCOL is one of the two straight clubs within FIRE in Vauxhall that is split in two, the straight and the gay side: www.fireclub.co.uk    Monday Morning I was invited there by John Duckett (Pacha Promotion Manager) and Adam Newsome (Choosen Promoter and Pacha Art Director).  HereI had the pleasure to encounter lots of my good old friends from the good old clubbing days inLondonand amongst them were Singer Maria Angeli, Djs Nerverdogs, Dj Clint Lee, Dj Marble, Make Up Artist Gabriella Gargiulo and many many more.  Basically I knew everybody there including the clubs owners and other promoters and event organizers that, by coincidence were all gathering together.  What an ideal way for me to celebrate Easter Bank Holiday week end” that with myLondon’s good old favourite friends.  Easter Bank Holiday week end is always a memorable one for me as it was four years ago when I arranged four bookings for Dj Butch, from Frankfurth, one of the Cocoon club dj and now a renowned International  artist.

I arranged, during Easter Bank Holiday Week End 2008, for DJ BUTCH, inLondon, a KOK-KLUB-TOUR with a series of gigs, during the same week end to clubs such as: Pacha, Fire, Egg, Sosho.   The promoters that I thank very much for making all that possible for us were:  Egg and Sosho= promoter HANS;  FIRE (A:M event) = ALEX ERFAN;  PACHA (Space Event) = JOHN DUCKETT  John Duckett was the one who orgsanized this year bank holiday week end at Pacha and also the Pacha after party at Protocol venue within Fire club.  JOHN DUCKETT is my friend  since many years and we have been such since long before we were business associate.  We have been  collaborating in few progects that were started but never finished.  We were partners in two events:  “FIERCE” at the legendary The Cross club that now has been closed down;  AMAZING promo”, that we started at 24club inLondonand than we relocated it at PUNK club inSoho Square.  My KoKoc Agency launched in thegardenofEgg Clubin 2006 within John Duckett event “ Falling Angels”.  Mr Duckett has also booked few artist from me during these past years:

1- P.J.Master fromRomewho came toLondonespecially to launch our “Treasure Island” album in Egg Club in 19-7-2008. http://www.beatport.com/search?query=madamkey

2- BUTCH from Frankfurth during his SPACE event in PACHALondon.

3- SHANE CAIRN cameraman, who was working as a valuable member of KoKoc Production during John other event “ABSTRACT” on the 13-09-2008 that was held at EGG CLUB.

John Duckett is a man who follows his heart and he act by mare instinct.  He is the director of the “A-LIST promotion” inLondon;  He is promoter of: ABSTRACT, BODYMOVE, SPACE and this are just to name but few.  He is PACHA Promotion Manager and above all a great friend for me.  He is not the easiest man on the planet and not always does what he promises but all I can say that he has been “Tough With Me” in business but when I needed the most his support, he was always there for me and I will always treasure that.  Bank Holidays offers a great time to take short holidays inLondon, a great time to enjoy what I call a WKD-WEEK-END.  We now have 9 Bank Holiday Week Ends inUK, including the new one added this year.  Lets start to take them into consideration for future holiday plannings. From the beginning of 2012, we have already had 3 so far, on the: 2nd January; the 6th  and 9th of April.

1-         The 1st one is always the best way to start the new year with a well-earned rest.  Sleep off the New Year’s Eve celebrations, hit the sales, or simply do whatever before starting the new routine.  Here in theUK, the importance of the Easter period is preserved with two bank holidays which also helps decide when the school holidays will fall as well.

2-         Good Friday itself commemorates the day Jesus Christ is believed to have died on the cross and always falls two days before Easter Sunday. Many shops remain open but schools and many workplaces are always closed.

3-         Easter Monday falls the day after Easter Sunday and is a bank holiday inEngland,WalesandNorthern Ireland, but not inScotland. The precise dates of Easter can vary by more than a month from year to year. Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon, on or after, the Spring Equinox, which usually occurs from March 20th to 21st. Because of the variations in the full moon dates, Easter Monday can occur anytime between March 23rd and April 26th. In 2012, Easter Monday was on April 9th because the first full moon after the equinox was on April 6th.

The Bank Holiday Week Ends still to came are the followings:  7th May Bank Holiday the first Monday in May is a bank holiday in theUK, traditionally known as May Day inEngland,WalesandNorthern Irelandand the Early May Bank Holiday inScotland. There are many traditional celebrations associated with May Day, including dancing around the Maypole, Morris dancing, village fetes and the crowning of the May Queen. It has also become associated with celebrating workers’ rights and it is known as “Labour Day” around the world. It has been an official public holiday in theUKsince 1978 . 4th June Bank Holiday  The Spring Bank Holiday has been given a fixed date on the last Monday of May.  5th June Bank Holiday  The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee has been designated as a special bank holiday in theUKin 2012. This Plan, for a celebration weekend,  to mark 60 years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, who first came to the throne in 1952, have been announced to take place from June 2nd to 5th.  27th August Bank Holiday  Is the Summer Bank Holiday inEngland. 25th December Bank Holiday  Christmas Day is the most thoroughly observed bank holiday in the UK.  26th December Bank Holiday Boxing Day has many of its own traditions but for many it is a time for sleeping off the excesses of the day before.  WicKeD 7 events will be scheduled throughout the year during these bank holiday week ends;  Please check future dates and location on our website: www.madamkey.com
